Haven't posted for a while having switched to the BMW camp in recent years, but thought I would share this morning's experience with you.
My X6M picked up a nail in the rear and despite having it repaired as a temporary stop gap, intending to replace the tyres once the winter is over, it blew the plug out and was deemed not repairable. Not wanting to spend out £1200 the week before Xmas on a brand new set, said to my local friendly tyre fitter that I might get a part worn tyre to get me through the next couple of months as I don't drive it much in the winter anyway.

'Oh great' he says I've got a couple of part worn 315 35 20 Bridgestone Runflats in that size, you can have them for £80 each!'

'Thanks. They are the tyres you took off my car when I had all four replaced 18 months ago!'

...so what did you do?

I bit the bullet and ordered a new set. I am quite fussy with my tyres, after all they are the bit that connects with and keeps your car on the road. That's why I changed all four tyres, with the rears only half worn as soon as I bought the car. This time I'm keeping the good part worn tyres though!

at least you know the history of the tyres so no worries there :p
