Looking at detailing products on the chemical guys side of things ive come across the foam washes.

Has anyone tried those , if the bumf on the website is to be believed thats all that needs to be done. Quick spray with the lance with the foam in it and then wash off the car?

Sounds too good to be true.

I know this is unrelated fuzzer, but this has been on my mind ever time that you post. Well here goes....

Is that you in your avatar picture?? :D

Forgive me if you already know this but... The idea of foaming your car is in addition to washing - it's just a pre-wash to try to remove the worst of the dirt and reduce the chance of causing swirl marks when you wash with your sponge/mitt. Spray on foam, leave for a few minutes, remove with powerwasher preferably, then wash with traditional bucket method.

Spot on.

I use snow foam, which is about a tenner a gallon and works with the foam lance on my pressure washer. I usually do a quick powerwash to wet the car, snow foam it, then powerwash and sponge wash again to get it sparkly.

Fuzzer, theres a Guy in glasgow who sels Chemical Guys gear, PM me if you want his details.
I use the works pressure washer and the TFR in it made my trim under the window go rainbow colour!!! so switched to this stuff and not a problem, theres hundreds of diferent products out there but CG is up there with them all.

Can't comment on Chemical Guys stuff but I use Autobrite Super Snow foam. It does a great job but you still need to use a sponge or mitt to shift the dirt. The main advantage of it is that it's supposed to minimise the risk of putting swirl marks in your paintwork. However it still takes at least the same effort as the traditional bucket and sponge method.

I hope you use the twin bucket method to try and reduce swirls

thanks , i was a little in the dark about the foam stuff . Prewash is cool , i couldnt work out how it did away with sponging. or if it did , how long it was till the paintwork dissolved :)

cheers guys.
