Chicken leg causes pile up !!1

This happened just up the road from me a couple of weeks ago. Saw the aftermath but didnt know the reason until i read the report. Fortunatly no-one seriously injured. Brings the police driving into question though i think ?

In what way? You don't know how you are going to react when an object comes towards you..

Cars behind were obviously not leaving a safe distance from cars in front.

It probably wasn't obvious that it was a chicken wing. Guessing the policeman noticed the guy throwing some kind of small projectile towards him, and thought it was something that could damage the car and/or injure him (such as a stone).

I think the policeman's observational skills and reaction times are to be applauded, while - as others have said - those of the drivers following leave a lot to be desired.

I've seen what happens to chicken hitting an aircraft wing at 300mph. It put me right off my club sandwich. A 10mph chicken bone however..........
