THIS site gives comprehensive listings of children's television programmes from as far back as the 1940's.

Not necessarily all favourites of mine, but I've placed some YouTube clips of what you'll expect to find on the website.

    So, what are your favourites?

We didn't have a television until I was about 8, so I came to all this rather late, but amongst my favourites were Pipkins, Mr Benn, Bagpuss and Willo the Wisp. Can't imagine 8-10-year-olds having much time for these programmes nowadays, mind.

Torchy the Battery Boy, Supercar, Champion the Wonder horse, Cisco kid and Circus Boy were some of my favourites.

There were several programmes that I didn't really care for that much, but thought they had pretty decent theme tunes. Such as...

I can remember the Cisco Kid, one of the first things I saw on Kids TV, and of course Crackerjack! with Eammon Andrews
