Dear old Morgan cars have re-created a three wheeler, and what a joy to behold. I particularly like the idea of the starter button being the firing button from the Typhoon. Chocks away, chaps!

Piccies here

There is an original one of these that runs around Hampton Hill. Noisy bugger it is.

I know this may sound sacrilegeous but where are the high intensity DRL's. Of all the vehicles on today's crowded roads this is one vehicle that really needs them. A little imagination and some suitably shaped moving images [ bit like those warning lights on cycles] could be projected to prevent some East European Artic with a narcoleptic driver at the wheel from driving over the top of you?

A friend of mine has one with the Ford sidevalve engine in it. He reckons that driving it at 70mph is the scariest experience he's ever had :D

What an amazing car! Regularly see an original on Hayling Island, being driven as it should! :D

I hope someone with a similar ethos will be found to take over Bristol Cars .

It's probably small enough to drive under!

Anyway the traditional role of the small British sports car was to provide organ donors through Darwinian selection, so I applaud the continuation of that tradition. :)

Someone nearby has a similar thing with a 2CV engine. Sounds distinctly odd, and accelerates implausibly fast!

Friend of mine has just built one of them, a 3 wheeler, with a Motto Guzzi engine in it, the thing absolutely flies along and sounds like thunder too. All good fun!

It looks like amazing fun. I want one :)

On a more serious note, I can imagine there being quite a good market for them which has been generally unsupported in recent years... Motorcyclists!

I wonder how they get around the crash test requirements ? ? ?
I mean the air bag quota looks zero as does the protective padding on the steering wheel.
And I cant see that engine at the front offering much in the way of pedestrian protection.

It's not a car. That's how they get around most requirements. It's considered a three wheeled motorcycle and so only such type approval rules exist for it.

Regards,

So, in theory, you could make a three wheeled dart-shaped arrow point 'car' with razor blades down the sides if you so wanted?

Well yes and no. Motorcycle type approval covers things protruding from the sides so the razor blades are probably out ;)

Charles i can definitely see you in that with your Biggles Goggles and leather hat and of course the White Silk Scarf blowing in the wind.

And the Dambusters music on the stereo ! :D

I can remember the slicer number plates on motorcycle front mudguards :D
