Hi

After getting a rather steep Gas bill, think I need to choose a better deal, there are so many deals out there now, short term fixed and longer term.

Any advice on what is the best to choose?

Thanks

Tan

Energy prices will go up,you can bet on that! So go for as long period as possible weighing up the deals.. You can use comparison websites to help choose!

I switched to Co-op this time last year after being horrified at British Gas bills. My bill is easily now £400 less per year.

I check out the comparison sites every year or so.
Latest switch is to scottish power - 2nd cheapest but with much higher customer service satisfaction rates than the cheapest.

One thing to bare in mind is that the longer term fix will cost you a lot more in the short term. Some would say that they balance out over the term of a long term fix vs. 2 short term products.

This is the dilemma, is it better to fix for a longer term or keep an eye on the market and change around after shorter periods.
