Ok, so with the release of the W213 E Class I've given this one some serious thought. I drove lots, and finally settled on this, which got the black-silk-sheet treatment earlier today.
The (as yet) lack of a decent sized E Class diesel coupe and a cracking deal on this one tipped me over the edge.
E350d Coupe, with the bolt-on AMG bits.
This furthers my Merc journey, which has gone something like:
W211 E320
W212 E220
W212 facelift E220
It's nice to get a decent glob of torque again, and this is sufficiently different to the saloons that I've had to justify a change.
Nothing fancy, as they are all workhorses and cover about 20k a year. But this strikes me as a decent all rounder ... big enough, modestly quick, pretty (subjective) and room for the Mrs and the nippers for long trips.
I'm sure that I'll warm to the W213 in time, and am entirely happy to stay with Merc for the foreseeable.
Merry Christmas!
