Have been really full on with my work recently, with no spare time, but thought I would take some time out today, so at 2pm today went to go shopping for wifey's presents before it was too late, after all Christmas is 3 and a bit days away, loads of time, bloody hell, an absolute nightmare, took an hour of me driving around in circles trying to get parked up, failed to do so, then decided before I totally lost it, bugger this, and drove home. Now I am planning to go out early tomorrow morning on the same mission, hope all you guys are not planning the same thing, don't get in my way guys! thats my parking space! LOL

Finished all mine this morning. Apart from picking up the turkey on Sunday, I have a weekend to get all the house ready for Christmas and my guests.

Now where's the smug git smiley when you need it?

Tomorrow will be the busiest day of the year for shopping (that's if you can get to the shops),perhaps a 7AM start with a flask and paper to bag yourself a prime parking spot.

I kind of did the same thing today - luckily walked into town after taking my team out for lunch.

It's busy out there. I did have a shopping basket open and pre-populated on House of Fraser's site before I went out to lunch with a view of arranging Click & Collect (to pick up from the store tomorrow after 12pm). Luckily I manged to get almost everything I need

Far too soon yet......lunch time(ish) Monday

Proper men do their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve when the shops are mostly dead.

After deciding the world was not going to end today i spent half an hour doing battle with wrapping paper , then felt decidedly smug at having got my shopping done, presents wrapped (sort of) three days early. Then driving home i suddenly remembered ......... forgot THE Xmas card. Better rectify that or for me the world will end next tuesday. ;)

Spot on Lee, I do every year it's also great for my kids as they can just about keep a secret for 24 hours. I get them up nice an earlier we have breakfast at the shopping centre and agree what each of them will buy Mum, job done by 12pm so time for some lunch and a then a trip to the cinema. I normally get them home about 4:30pm which means we have time to wrap before my wife gets home, the added bonus was that when the kids were younger they were then tired and ready to sleep that evening without any problems.

I was amazed (and delighted) to visit Brighton yesterday around noon to find their underground car park about 90% empty. I had half a floor to myself. Brightonians must all have gone to your town for their pressies!

Probably worried that an underground car park might be liable to flooding :D

Well at 07.00 there I was, bleary eyed and trying hard not to snarl, at a supermarket with Mrs S. as a beast of burden for that pre Crimbo mega shop. Normally avoid this horror but events forced it.

It was terrible. Stressed women, grumpy blokes, far too many excited children, the odd wailing infant, the hidous background of jingle jingle jingle musak, staff with fixed grins wearing Christmas hats but with that look in the eyes that said that instead of directing to the stuffing they would prefer to escort you to a firing squad and mass grave in the car park.

Oh bugger, I'd forgotten that too. I'd bought pressies online to save going through the hell that makes rubbing your eyeballs with a Brillopad seem pleasurable, but it's now too late to buy a card online. I wonder if she'll notice if I Snopake out the name on one of the cards on our mantlepiece?

We're off to Tesco at about 6 on Monday morning for the Christmas dinner veg and stuff. I can probably lose her for a while in the million others there at the same time to avoid the crowds, whilst I secretly snatch a card off the shelf. Just have to hope that in the rush I don't pick up an "In Sympathy" card by mistake!

There's always the petrol garage on Xmas morning? :dk:

Today is a busy day for us!

Tree just put up - check
Turkey just delivered - check
Everyone is dressed and ready for a very hectic couple of hours at Borough Market getting Fruit, Veg, Cheese & Meat. It's a great experience with choirs and traditional stalls selling high quality produce and well manage to snack all the way around on there samples so no need to buy lunch.

Borough Market. Was there earlier this year - amazing place, if a little pricey.

I have never seen a queue outside a coffee shop before.

Perhaps pop in to Vinopolis for a cup of tea?

Went to our local Sainsbury's at about 10:30 last night on our way home from a curry.

Shop was deserted - all done within 25 minutes.

Food sorted!

SWMBO wants me to go get our vegies on Monday as they will be fresher! Anyone else seen people in fields digging up spuds and carrots or swedes.

I just says nowt and has another brew.

Given the dreadful weather I doubt any machines will be in the fields for a while yet.

Went Christmas shopping at 10 o clock and was finished and home for 12.

Job done.
