chrome book not arrived yet ordered in july

hi ordered my boy a chromebook in late july as part of school scheme for new term ,now still not arrived [apparently china and demand ] so do i wait or phone cancel and say im gonna moan to trading standards .....
or anyone knows of any good deals ..

What model did you order, where did you order it from, and have you paid for it yet?

If there's a shortage issue, it must be specific to Chromebooks, because we supply dozens of new laptops every month (Hp and Lenovo), and there hasn't been any supply issues since around June (supply was indeed limited during Mar/Apr/May).

Ordered my Chromebook 5pm on a Thursday and it arrived 2pm the next day.
Why wait nearly 3 months before chasing your order? You must have a very specific product requirements, or is it because it's through some discount purchase scheme?

Chromebooks are great, and there’s plenty of choice. If you need it now then ask for a refund and buy one from somewhere else.

It seems to me that the delay is due to an issue with the particular school scheme that you signed-up to, rather than due to anything related to supply and demand etc.
