I recently read a thread about a poor body wrap job and thought I would share these snaps i took of a chrome wrapped Audi. The car is obviously driven quite a bit and the wheels were pretty scuffed. Anyhoo it looked amazing in bright light, if a little dazzling.

Ah that hasn't worked the way I thought it would. Give me a few minutes to work it out..........? :D

Ah think I've got it, Fickr wasn't giving me the right code until I refreshed it's page :(

I liked the way the car looked like it wasn't just a pampered Sunday afternoon car. Although the wheels are a little bit scruffy. The carbon fibre bit of th wrap looked better finished to my eyes, but I think that's the probably just the difficulty that chrome gives when you wrap it?? If you click on the pictures and select the original size you can see the quality, or not, of the wrap better.

Some of the panel gaps were a bit rubbish though :(

Some pics it looks great, others make me want to puke my guts out.

I'd have mine in silver with black side blades if I could buy one.

Carbon fibre wrap is a big no from me. If you can afford a R8 and want carbon fibre panels then buy the real thing. IMHO of course. I do like the R8 though.

I wondered if it was illegal. On a bright sunny day it could be blinding to on-comers. Still it was a really big head turner and I think that is what the owner wanted.

Seen 2 cars in the flesh with chrome wrap , one was a R8 as well with polish plates and was being driven like a to$$er other was a Bentley gt driven by a footballer type in a petrol station in Peckham , looked $hite !

Good work with the photos Amanda I'm always too slow / rubbish at getting photos whenever I see something interesting !

I seem to remember a newspaper article a few years back about somebody who bought his wife a chrome wrapped Mini costing about £40k from memory and then found that no insurer would cover it, i wonder if that position has changed?

It looks like it has just come out of a box of Quality Street .

Seems to be something about R8s and chrome wraps. Saw this one in Sloane St a few weeks ago. (Excuse the dodgy pics, taken on my iPod in fading light.)

I like the all-over chrome better. reminds me of Tron :D

I've seen the car in Amanda's post on several occasions at Marks & Spencers in Handforth Dean.

Nice reflection in the N/S window btw. :)
