Chuck Berry

Saw him live in Leicester in the mid 70's at Baileys Night Club. He was a charismatic and accomplished performer, which is why, I can still recall that night. Happy Days.

Came home from a theatre concert last evening, to find out Chuck Berry had died.

Very fitting that the band was the ELO Experience, who of course played ELO's version of Roll Over Beethoven, possibly the best version, apart from Berry's own.
 
He's played with his ding-a-ling for the last time. What a hoot.

First band I was in and the first song we did was, for some reason in the punk 70s, Johnny B Goode. I was the singer as well haha. Been playing on and off since, so I guess his music helped kickstart my interest in bands.

Chuck Berry was one of music's big characters, first rate musician with genuine quality. RIP but I guess if he can rest, then he'll be playing more instead
