chyscler PT cruiser convertible 07 plate

That's not how I search. If it's a car I'm after, I search in Cars.

Why would you want a plate with the name of a city....?

Why would you want a plate with the name of a city....?

people put all kind of plates and the one that reads a word has more value

1 ran was being chased by iran embassy but bought by private investor

I'll ask my Iranian friend about this, when he's back from Croatia.

Who'd not love to buy a private plate that looks ('a bit like') a reminder of the worst time of your family's life?
Another enduring classic...

If I moved abroad I might get a plate saying 'London' just for a laugh.... but I wouldnt pay any money fir it. Certainty not a 6 figure sum...

Said that, there are quite a few Iranians in the UK whose families escaped from Iran after the Islamic revolution, I suppose some might feel homesick as they are unable to go back. But to be honest other than that I really can't see why anyone would pay silly money to have the name of a city on a plate. But there you go....

What sort of idiot would pay anything at all for TEH124N? Anyone who is prepared to pay good money for a 'private plate' that nobody will realise says anything until you've told them what it says (and even then doesn't actually say it unless they have defective eyesight), will surely not miss the opportunity to snap up a CLS55 AMG IWC Ingenieur Edition which is also featured in this sub-forum.

When they're done, if they would like to bring their cow round to my house, I'll swap them a pig in a poke or some magic beans for it...

Why the angst?

that is where u r wrong 1 ran sold for 57k just changed hand for 250k very rarely u could have made that sort of money unless u were lucky to buy sls gullwing and low point for 50k and it is now north of 150k

F4LAH sold by myself 10 years ago to in dubai for 27k bought for client on maiden bid for 3k.

no plates are very good invest often better return than property and cars for appreciation since change of plates to present system

F1 was bought for 500k berine offered 5m present owner wants 10m to sell

not bad investment over 10 years

u r wrong the were buying dubai xx which would have cost them upward of 5 million dollars

this was their sons name and on their bentley

that is what they say little knowledge is dangerous sir

I admit that I know very little about the apparently lucrative business of selling Arabic-sounding plates to wealthy people from Dubai.

Why the angst?

Angst? Not angst; just marvelling at the alleged stupidity of some people.

I still have the beans and the pig, by the way...

I think the picture is getting clearer... when the clients are money-no-object types from oil-rich countries everything's possible.

I'll look forward to one of them coming round for the aforesaid pig and beans imminently, then.

nothing to do with rich clients and the middle east since current registration format as it is very hard format names on it

non dated no plates in the last 10 years gone up 10 fold

old prefix AAA NNN Ano plates gone up 8 fold

and A NNN AAA gone up approx for 4 fold

people like to have personalised no plates and if the words mean something without holes or funny stuff they worth much more than ones with extra letters or numbers (poor mans alternatives)

in summary middle east buyers are their and since uae no plates going for the millions F4LAH actually was selected by english wife for her son as cheaper and better alternative

prices are going up but selling is not easy u might have to wait for years to get a sale and for large ticket items takes even longer

regtransfers now offer loan against plates as in finance but u have to pay interest which when u miss they take plate off you

it is alternative investment just likes stamps domain names diamonds currency

Strangely, there are those who will pay lots of money to be laughed at, usually ruining some desireable cars in the process.

However, if the OP can make a living at it then it's all good, surely :dk:.
