chyscler PT cruiser convertible 07 plate

Plates can be a very good investment but only if the plate you buy is (or will be) in demand by others.

As long as there are other people who would be willing to pay £££ for F4LAH then it's fine.

The obvious risk is in spending silly money on a plate that no one else wants - or at least not as much as you did.

I have a plate which I bought for relatively little money some years ago, I bought it because I liked it - it is questionable if I could turn a profit on it, or even recoup the buying price in full, but that's besides the point as I did not buy it as an investment in the first place.

correct it is all about smart buying and there still what u have has to be sought after by somebody but once u got it cannot be other copies like stamps diamonds and currency

selling might be instant or take time but everything sells depends on the price n knowledge agent sometimes give low estimate so they sell quick n make their customary 20% does not matter if u lose monies

If I moved abroad I might get a plate saying 'London' just for a laugh.... but I wouldnt pay any money fir it. Certainty not a 6 figure sum...

Said that, there are quite a few Iranians in the UK whose families escaped from Iran after the Islamic revolution, I suppose some might feel homesick as they are unable to go back. But to be honest other than that I really can't see why anyone would pay silly money to have the name of a city on a plate. But there you go....

Case in point! I think my mate's Dad has amassed too many houses to feel homesick ...and, I would bet that they're all paid off.

Cheers to the Ayatollah!:D

I think the picture is getting clearer... when the clients are money-no-object types from oil-rich countries everything's possible.
The same people who cover perfectly good cars in gold leaf or crystals...just because they can.

Some of us are old enough to remember the 'joke' about the rich changing their car because the ashtray was full.

It has gone WAY past that point.

But as long as they spend some of it in the UK let them get on with it.

I missed this from Dinoy the first time around:

"btw 12 in no plate speak is well known as R"

So: No. Plate Speak is otherwise known as Dyslexia, then? NOW I understand...:D

So let me get this straight. There are people out there who think the numbers 1 and 2 magically become an 'R' when on a cars number plate...WTF ?

This gives people who suffer Dyslexia a name bad.

In context it probably does look like an 'R'.

Say your mind expects to see R in a familiar word such as a name then 12 will trick the brain into seeing R.

You must have seen those teasers where the words are deliberately presented in an odd way but you can still read it?

Or, maybe, you are just being difficult to try and prove some kind of point which will make you feel superior?

Perhaps I'm a silly a12se, then? Or perhaps it's not me...

To me he speaks his mind. Or are we not allowed this anymore? The car sale disguised as a number plate sale is a scam. For a big businessman / investor like the OP paying fees should be a no issue? Oh wait, it hurts his feelings when people don't recongnise true value of his plate and don't rush to give him money... Good.

Just had a look at his other items for sale. The guy suffers from dillusions of grandeur. Up to £1M unpronounceable plates next to a £3.95 USB charger (with best offer). :D

PS: if he can't take a joke, maybe he shouldn't be listing one on here?

Based on this logic... how much would this plate be worth then?:

https://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/spotted-ebay/223487-all-glistens.html

in arabic a few hundred quid less than 500.

but could worth much more if it means something in another language appologies z u w x in a plate reduces its value as less chance to make a word

a friend bought gam3s which was sold previously for 1200 plus cost on dvla auction for 1k, selling for 50k had offers over 25k from online gamers gamblers etc good advertising i guess

There's a lot of mugs with money about...

I suppose I just don't understand why people would pay good money for something of no intrinsic value that doesn't actually say anything at all.
