Citroen DS & SM Rally today

If anyone is interested, this years DS & SM rally is this weekend at Cricket field, Little Horwood, Milton Keynes, MK17 0PF.

The sun is shining so a decent turn out should be on the cards. I'm going so will post back pictures later.

I went along to this yesterday and it was a good day. Being billed as a DS & SM rally it was surprising to see only two SM in attendance again (not the same ones).

A few pictures.

Maserati Bi-turbo.

Clock still in place.

Only two SM again. The blue one has Rues Resine (fibreglass) wheels and the gold one is a 3 litre with the auto-box changed for a manual.

What a gorgeous Safari.

With enough space for a growing family.

Seans GSA Pallas SE. These are really growing on me.

Running repairs on a 1959 ID.

Note, the roof has no Gelcoat.

An old school friend of mine runs a Citroen repair/maintenance garage - it's all he's done since leaving school.

If anyone fancies a Citroen Rally, there are two notable ones coming up soon.

The national Rally will be held at Wicksteed park, Kettering, NN15 6NJ on 20-21st July.

CXM will be at Little Horwood, MK17 0PF, 7-8th September.


A blatant plug... Anything interesting would be appreciated at either Rally.

I don't know what it's called - we lost touch for years and then I bumped into him a few months ago in his Citroen breakdown car. Turns out he's still running it from a premises in Stirchley B30.

I have the Little Horwood day in the diary. I doubt my hand will be sound enough to drive by the time of the National Rally.

Lovely radioactive Kermit green on the SM, although the US headlights grow on me less and less!

Great to see so many DS and 70s Citroens too on a sunny day.

You can turn up in anything and will be made welcome.

I've just read your other post. An 850 would be very welcome, a nice car and interesting.

If you intend to just visit, Sundays tend to be busier days, but at CXM there is a convoy organised for Saturday.

Nasty bump on the rear wing just above the swage line - that will not be cheap.

Get one Will, they are simply amazing (well mine is). I am missing driving it lots.
