Someone on here mentioned a CL55 last week and my "car antennae" have been twitching ever since. SEARCH has told me of pitfalls but can someone sum up the models above CL500 as I'm confuse, I see a 55,600,65 anything else ?
3 miles from me is a 30,000 mile 2002 CL600 for £11k although it would be my
Personal 3rd car and may need thousands spending on it (I love my indie) I'm seriously tempted. Not specifically by the 600 mentioned but by a CL beastie overall. Plus what a stablemate to the SL55.
The GS450h comes on Tuesday I'm already trying to soften Anna up to having it as her car but she knows me too well.
She said I'm the type of person who frets over having 2 pairs of shoes never mind 3 cars. Having 2 cars is easy as one 4 seat tin top and other 2 seat rag top - simples but adding 4 seat 2 door to the equation makes forca quandary. What do other multi car none necessity owners do ?

Don't buy an old CL, the ABC costs a fortune to maintain and they depreciate at the speed of something being dropped out of a plane.

Dave, I can't really advise on whether you should go for a CL in addition to your Lexus and SL. Having had both CL55 and CL600, I can tell you a little about the differences. I also found Wikipedia a very good source.
The 55 has a 5.5 litre V8 supercharged engine. Compared to CL600, the suspension is tuned to be a more sporty ride, and the gearbox is also setup to be more responsive. It has the Tiptronic gearbox that has auto and manual control, and botton gear change on the steering wheel. I found the ride and steering very good for a 2 tonne car. It dealt with both motorway and fast a-road driving extremely competently.
The CL600 had a 6 litre V12 engine before Sept 2003 (I think) and a 5.5 litre V12 twin turbo afterwards. The post 2003 car (my current) produces similar power to the 55 but the ride and drive is setup as a more comfortable cruiser. The difference is subtle and the choice depends on personal preference. The two are almost identical in any other way.
The things to look out for, first and foremost the ABC. It is similar to your SL55, but seem to give CLs more problems. Rust could also be a problem, on aluminium panels and bottom of doors.
