Hi, I have been looking to buy a cl500, I have found two very nice ones, both one owner. The 2002 car has done 75000 miles the 2005 has done 97000 miles. Both have good service history. The newer car has the 7 speed gear box and newer command sat nav., is this all the facelift comprises? Is the facelift worth an extra £3000 even though the car has done more mileage? Many Thanks in anticipation.

From memory, the 2005 car will be less prone to rust as they addressed the issues that affected the earlier cars. I think the answer to your question would be better addressed if we knew the asking price of the cars as there tend to be some very optimistic sellers around.

On the information to hand, I would go for the later one, however, it would depend on the price since you may find yourself in CL55 territory as a potential option.

If rumour is to be believed, large engined cars are not selling so that may give you some leverage on negotiations. Personally I think this is not the case....overpriced large engined cars are not selling but realistically priced ones are selling and continue to do so.

Thanks very much for your reply, the older car is £6995 the newer one just reduced to £9500, I have been to see the older one and it is really nice condition and with a 6 month warranty, I have not had chance to see the newer one in person yet.
I hear horror stories about the ABC suspension, was this sorted out on the newer cars or on the CL55 version?
