Do you have a UHI ? electrical connection in the drivers armrest cubbyhole thingy . This is where the Bluetooth module usually connects to

Yes W1ghty there is one of those in the centre armrest with a little plastic cover over the connector, do I just buy a module and plug it in that,I've seen somewhere that you need a uhi lead as well?

Is you car a W216?

The pre-facelift had COMAND NTG3 which does not have built-in Bluetooth and the telephony option requires a separate Bluetooth module.

The 2010 facelift got NTG3.5 which has the Bluetooth functionality incorporated into the COMAND system.

That's what my 2005 E Class had.

Or the Viseoo MB2 is what my 2009 E class uses

The caveat is that you'll get 2008 style bluetooth, which is fine for calls etc. but can't do all the music streaming and navigation stuff. (I think ...)
