Just had car serviced by local Indy, engine, gearbox, diff all new oils, brake fluid

Spark plugs (16) and a few other jobs needed including brake pipes, why do MB use steel pipes have they not heard of kunifer?

Well at least I know car has been serviced properly, servicing costs are less than depreciation on the Honda Civic

To be fair that is a massive amount of things to do all at the same time!

I do not grudge the money m2287, it is still a pleasure to drive and I am slowly knocking into the condition I want the car to be. This is what happens when you buy a car with poor service history, I now know the car has been serviced by a knowledgable MB mechanic who does what he says and uses MB parts, even if they could be bought cheaper elsewhere. Plugs fitted were not correct for car so makes me wonder what other greasemonkey botch has been done, hopefully this service will eliminate the poor previous servicing.

Now looking forward to driving dawn souf for holiday with relatives this month with some confidence car will perform as it should, just hope the driver performs equally!

There won’t be a next one, when this is sorted I will run it until either the car or me passes on!

Don’t think so, obviously good relationship with Indy did not want instant payment, still waiting on bill.

Bought the car for the long term, not intending to sell in the near future, for the miles I do 3000 pa I hope it will pay long term to have car serviced properly, do not grudge money for service, prefer to do work when I chose rather than car or mot inspector saying it has to be done now.

Just love driving the car, a gentleman’s carriage!

Oops flow rider, I should have listened to you, yep that’s what it cost:(

Anyway car is for long term so hopefully I will not need to do it again, now I know car has been properly serviced with correct fluids and filters, never been a fan of cheap oils and filters

Did it run much better with the new plugs, or was it more about prevention and knowledge of what's fitted?

Not any noticeable difference renault12ts, always started first time before however Indy advised wrong plugs had been fitted. I am getting more confident in car now that I know it has been serviced properly by Indy.

Gear oil and diff oil were past their best judging from colour, fuel filter probably original with sediment inside. I changed cabin filters and they looked original based on colour and amount of debris.

All the filters and fluids have now been changed so here is hoping!
