hi all Happy new year, I have a (2000) w215 with the small command tv I have been offered a newer wide TV/dvd from a cl600 2003 also the fascia surround will it all work OK or will there be any issues? ??

It should all work okay as both cars have D2B network.

Are you planning on fabricating your centre console trim or getting a new 03+ trim (then you'd have to get new aircon controls, etc).

My trim is out of the car at the moment (04 CL). Let me know if you want some close up of brackets, dimensions, etc.

hi the trim/fascia is with the tv unit all out of an 03 cl600 but I have also noticed that all the buttons at the top ie the ones that are along side the hazard switch are different shapes to mine so will it still fit? All I want is the wooden surround/fascia to cater for a (wide screen tv) to fit without any real issues. there for what year will fit mine with out having to make any modifications of possible? And yes any info or tips you have will be helpful thank you mate.

You either go with a complete 03 trim, controls and buttons or dremel out and fabricate a bracket for your existing trim. Personally I'd go with the former. Really depends on your skills though so I'm not sure what's easier here.

You will need the top row buttons. Aircon appears to be the same across 215 chassis so you're good there. That's it.

Is the wiring harnes the same, the buttons are in different places.. (The dreaded) ABC is on the RHS pre 02, and on the passenger 02+?

We'll if the loom is different then you would potentially have to splice into it, or move the pins in the plugs... To be honest it could potentially be a lot of hassle!

ok sounds complicated so if I got a pre 02 trim/fascia would the buttons all be in the correct order & I'd be able to just add the buttons to match the holes. . . If the wiring loom is the same ? Maybe I need to find out first before I buy any thing
