CL500 W215 ‘Paid In Full’ Style

Update:

A few parts have come but, went to collect some more at Mercedes and sadly, they ordered the wrong parts.. Having to wait another week and possibly look at getting some bolts from BML or some ARP bolts for the bell housing as Mercedes don’t do them any more apparently… The head of parts is going to do some research on this and let me know tomorrow to confirm so fingers crossed or, have to go the aftermarket route.

I would find it odd to discontinue bolts for a transmission that was used in over a 25+ models and 3 car brands.

Other than that, no real update sorry guys!

I can happily say, I am at the point of where I can put the gearbox back in. FINALLY…

After weeks of parts not turning up as promised, chasing senders, wrong parts being sent etc… etc.. I have now installed the following new parts:

- Valve Body
- Solenoid's
- All new gaskets, springs, o-rings etc..
- Shaft Seal
- Conductor Plate
- Filter
- Plug
- New Bolts (Had to tap new thread)

Doing the bolts weren’t as bad as I thought! As the thread had already been started, it was only a case on turning and turning until your shoulders give out🤣 Came out brilliant and fit perfectly!

Here’s the new valve body and removing the old plus a glimpse of the gearbox with the valve body out - No metal shavings and from what I can see, the bearings and gears look perfect.

A job I’ll be doing once the gearbox is back in, the crankshaft pulley. I’m also waiting for a whole pulley set to come as well as a new alternator & belt - This will fix the wobble I have on mine and also clean up the look of the engine as a few pulleys have a bit of corrosion on them.
