CL500 W215 ‘Paid In Full’ Style

Looking to drop the rear as it’s sitting quite high. Infact, looking to lower it all slightly so on the lowest mode has a nice clean stance to it, just on the edge of the tyre sort of look.
Nice work on bringing this one back into lovely condition. It looked pretty low in your second pic on first post already?

I had my Bose amp die, system all powered up but no sound.

I actually bought a same year CLK AMG Bose amp, (couldn’t find a w215/220 version) the connector plug required a plastic keyway to be filed away to fit (slightly different position ; 5mins with a needle file and Stanley knife) but has worked perfectly for the past 3 or 4 years.

ps the car looks fantastic 👍👍

I had to Google “Paid in Full” style, is it a reference to a film?
Drug dealer gangster type film from the early 2000 with a nice helping of gangsta style modded cars.
Paid In Full will always be Eric B and Rakim for me! ‘Hit the studio, ‘cos we’re paid in full!’
Film title was a reference to the 80’s and Eric B and Rakim’s record, when hip hop was hip hop.
Ahhhh brings back memories of listening to the Electro LP’s with my older bro’s as a young impressionable young ‘un 😃

I'd be happy with the darker mats if only to keep as a winter set to hide the grub a bit better. Grey for spring time.
I thought the same afterwards - looking at them now, it actually suits the car.

Chugg explained it perfectly!
In the film they had some really interesting German cars with period correct tuners. I really liked the character “Ace Boogie” who drove around in a SEC (560?) with the AMG kit fitted. As this isn’t a SEC I thought I’d try go near that style with the low, aggressive look.

When one the lowest setting it is quite low, I just want an extra 10-15mm just to hit that sweet spot.
And thank you very much!

I actually found out earlier this week it was the AMP after all this time. I went to many “specialists” and wanted to quote me £2500 onwards to fix it. Gave MSL a call to see if they could point me somewhere as I love their work and have great trust in them - they pointed me over to their service devision and spoke to a guy who they call the “Magician”. He started work at 16:00pm and called me at 16:30pm to say he’s found the issue and fixed it ready for collection same day!
I’d highly recommend giving them a call for anything.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind comments!

Hello Guys,

Thought I’d get some updates in here as I’ve decided to take a month off work to relax 😁

Here are some pictures of how it’s sitting now.

I’m actually quite amazed at how aggressive it looks from the rear and and side view without an AMG/Prior Design bodykit fitted.

Is there a way to add videos here? I’d love to show some videos of the exhaust etc..

Yes you can insert links to videos - if you’re on a mobile phone then you may need to click on the buttons which look like three vertical dots to see more options, you’ll then see a button with a film reel on it.

Well guys.... It’s been a while since I’ve last posted here - I believe this photo, which is one of many invoiced items will explain why🤣E994DB50-C209-4E0F-A067-D4F5B2F70341.jpeg

So, the inevitable happened.. My ABC Pump went along with some seals on a few lines. Was an absolute nightmare.
Was without my car for 7 and a half weeks with a “Mercedes Specialist” (I won’t name) who was horrendous trying to deal with but eventually with an invoice of £2400 the car is finally back.

It’s got to the point I have now spent so much money on this car, I may as well keep doing it and make it the best CL example I can😂. I won’t be doing this for resell value or anything like that but, more for the enjoyment and seeing how the car has progressed from ownership from my Father to myself.

With that being said I’ll attach a few photos of how the car is right now and mention plans going forward.

The list of the following jobs I plan to do on the CL:

- Powder Coat the Calipers.
- Sort the suspension level (Drivers side is sitting higher than the passenger)
- Respray both doors and roof.
- New Drivers Seat
- New Drivers door card
- Wires in drivers door need soldering as the speakers are intermittent
- Paint Correction & Ceramic coating
- Full Detail
- service
- Install sun roof motor.
- Sort passenger rear light bulb (Corroded)

And I think that’s it really.

Done a few other bits but aren’t really worth mentioning.

I do believe I’m running quite a unique tyre setup on the rear being 20 x 30 x 295 with the slightest bit of rub - and when I say rub, this is motorway bumps on the lowest setting. On level 1, there is no rub at all meaning, I may of found an aggressive sweet spot for the W215 chassis?? Also, ride quality is as smooth as hell for those wondering!

Amazing job!

There is a small fuse on the amp,.
It does look great.
Those wheels look stunning and compliment the timeless lines of the 215.
