I'm looking to buy a CL500, I've done a fair bit of scaring myself online with ABC woes but wondered what the button does...is it just hard / soft option or is there more to it?

Thanks Ed

Interesting thanks, I see owners add lowering links to fool the ABC but if it already had height adjustment seems odd unless they are going very slammed look maybe

Active Body Control

It uses sensors and hydraulics to substantially reduce body roll during enthusiastic driving.

The lowering links allow the car to be lowered a bit more than standard ride height, whilst still keeping the rest of the system ‘standard’.

The car actually drops lower above a set speed, to aid aerodynamics.

The height button on the dash allows you to raise the car if you are on a bumpy/potholed surface, or speed bumps/ramps if you think you may scrape the front airdam/panel.

Hope you’ve found a good one

if you need a set of unused genuine MB pale grey mats for a W215 😎.....

I have the w216 the ABC button cycles through comfort - sport - manual, I always keep it in sport as it also makes the engine more responsive and holds lower gears.
