Hi there All... Has anyone on here, and or possibly also on MBWorld site that lists the do's n dont's for this, used and intalled the Yellow Speed Coilovers mentioned from my previous post, over here. Surely I can't be the first one this side of the Pond to do so.... and... If so can you give me a heads up as to the definative top mount spec, flat top mount or slanted....?

I don't know anything about Yellow speed coil overs but I do know that any cars with ABC suspension will not have swaybars installed so unless you source all those parts from an airmatic car, you might find yourself going **** backwards towards a ditch on the first hard corner you take.

Try mbworld.org for much info about this.

Easier to fix ABC
These cars meant to ride as, let them be that way
My opinion it is a crime to remove it
Old cars, parts widely available

I installed coilovers on my SL55 so I would expect the CL to be a similar process.

Most of the parts required can be ordered from your local MB dealer. Then buy the best quality coilovers you can afford.

The only difficulty on the SL was the front sway bar. I initially bought a SL350 sway bar but it didn't clear the bigger oil sump of the V8!!! Problem was solved by buying a VVK Sway bar from the states.

Coilovers do make the car much sportier to drive - now more muscle car than limo as it was with the ABC. So if comfort is your main priority you should stick with the ABC.
