Eisenmann Sport back boxes for CL55K. Made in Germany. The best sound you can have on a 55K car.

Very good condition, not had them for long.

Bolt ons, no welding involved, only cutting of your existing boxes.

Would never sell but have to finance other purchases for the car.

Collection from Milton Keynes or I can post.

Original price when these were still available from Eisenmann - £1800+VAT.

£1k firm.

Hey Alx,

How does this exhaust sound in comparison to the standard AMG one during normal driving. I hate exhausts that drone, I spend most of the time between 1-2.5k rpm so if its the same (or quieter which I doubt lol) there that would be fine.

I can't take it off you just now as I have my baby booked in to MB next Monday to replace all the side windows (£2.4k for the glass alone!) although, next month would be fine if it is still available.

Just out of interest, what do you have planned for your CL?

It is a stainless steel exhaust so the sound is very different to the standard AMG one. It has much more low tone burble to it, something the AMG didn't have. Step on the throttle and it is like a machine gun. You may need to roll your windows down as the laminated glass takes quietens it down a fair bit.

I still remember the drone I had on my old CL600 when I removed the back boxes - something I regretted soon after and knew I would never do again. Nice rumble but that low RPM drone did my head in. The quality aftermarket back boxes are the way to go just because they don't drone.

Well done on the glass. It is expensive but the car looks so much better with clean glass. Mine was done last year.

I'm actually surprised the AMG exhaust isn't stainless! That sounds good, the video on YouTube sounds great when he steps on it. :D

I was tempted to leave the rears which would have halved the price but there is nothing worse than seeing the ugly stain that is on the top edge. The fronts are really bad though, can see it even with them closed.

Once that has been replaced, I'll be going to the bodyshop to get the front bumper resprayed and calipers then going to a detailer for a full paint correction. She will be like new after that.

My exhausts are all sooted up inside so these would be the finishing touch.

I've not been on here in a while due to starting a new company, any links to a project thread or anything? Sounds awesome! :thumb:

Alx I am doing work on my sl600 exhaust now. I am doing 3" downpipes and 3" stainless straight back with X-pipe and 200cell sport cats.

What kind of drone from your cl600 experience will I have and what would I need to do to prevent it without hurting performance?

Hmmm wonder if this would fit a CLS 55....

If so, count me in!

Yeah, had the same doubts about the rears but decided to replace them and I'm glad I did. My interior was out for a CF retrim at that time so I used the opportunity to swap the glass not to have to rip it apart again. No build thread on this one I'm afraid, just not enough time.

Back boxes don't generate enough back pressure to affect the performance. So long you keep them standard or replace with the likes of Brabus or Eisenmann you won't have any drone.

Wouldn't have thought so. Not without the extensive modifications (and even then).

If need be I can transfer you the full lot but would be great to hold off a few weeks?
