CL65 AMG

Red panels look aftermarket to me.

I do have a soft spot for cars - and AMGs in particular - with two-tone red and black interiors but I’m not feeling this one. Miserable of me, I admit.

I do love a 65 but always had an issue with them from the 215 on.

A CL55 was 100 grand and a 65 was 150 grand. Ok so the engine may be sublime but I'd want a bit more eccentricity and individuality in the whole car for my 50 % and 50 grand extra, not just in the engine department.

But he ho may just be missing the point, I often do 😀

I’ve checked the data card of this car and I think the original owner spent a fortune on the specification. Exterior paint is special order (there isn’t even a Merc code for the paint), interior leather is special order, interior and exterior carbon, and a few other things… it was probably ordered through Manufaktur scheme

Of the 20 odd sold in the UK there can't have been many fitted with the P30 option as this one. The original owner of mine ticked every option including designo paint and interior except P30 and the fridge (which I fitted just for the sake of it) bringing the total to £168k.

Hello. I’m the proud new owner of this CL65. It’s a completely original beautiful unmolested example, the original owner travelled to AMG in Germany to build this car at the designo department with the total coming to 185k build cost (he also bought a Maybach while there)
I have owned many AMG v8’s but this is the first V12
Looking forward to taking it to many events.

Congratulations !! Fantastic motor. Lucky man.

A phenomenal car, yet such an astonishing price. You did very well.

In your shoes, I'd have to treat this to a trip to its birthplace, Affalterbach, next Spring, where they will welcome you like a returning hero, but each to their own.

Thanks Mike, I have to agree the price was a steal in my eyes. Yes a trip down the autobahn is definitely on the cards in the future I have done it in a CL63 before so doing it in the true autobahn king will be a treat!

Congratulations, lovely car.

I did eye this up for a brief moment.

I had a sneaking suspicion that it may be a 40th anniversary model (one of 40 worldwide) but whilst the interior patterns are correct I have never seen a two-tone red example, and couldn’t see the anniversary logo on the centre console.

What made me think it might be was the colour - I suspect you may have a very rare Alubeam Silver car. Either way, it’s a rare car in a very rare spec. Congratulations once more.

Thank you. The spec is unbelievable the guy who dealt with the sale said he had so much interest also people offering over the asking, but I was able to put deposit down only a few hours after listing and i was there the same day and paid for the car.
