Clashed mirrors

Arghhhhh! Came round a sharp bend & had to take evasive action this morning to avoid tractor towing huge trailer that was well over white line. Ended up bashing mirror shells with crappy Astra builders van parked in a stupid & dangerous position on my side of the road. May they both be visited by unpleasant diseases such as HM Customs & Excise and the Inland Revenue.

Could have been much, much worse but damage was limited to black plastic marks & nasty scratches on my N/S mirror shell. Black marks will polish out, but scratches look like they will be too deep.

Anybody have some good ideas short of new mirror shell/ repainting?
