2010 bmw 325d m sport coupe.......2007 transit high roof ,LWB......
is it possible? ive just tried lancaster and they dont have a policy for it, said it isnt classed as a collectable vehicle.I was qutoted £473 which is not much less than what i paid for it, I thought id pick a policy up somewhere for a couple of hundred.
the car is a 94 "m" e220 auto.

Got my '94 estate on a classic policy with Adrian Flux Insurance

adrian flux or footman james should both be able to help you as its now 15 years old, i'd go with footman james if the policies are similally priced as although they paid out ok on my cortina i had to argue for a long time and i have heard other stories about a reluctance to pay, i believe footman james include breakdonw cover as well, at least they used to.

What's the advantage of a classic car policy.? Just get a regular one then you accrue NCD, which you don't with a classic policy.

Hi Mike,

Spooky! I too live in Cumbria, and I've agreed to buy (getting it next weekend hopefully) a 1994 W124 E220 Estate!

Flux has quoted me £170 pa, fully comp, unlimited mileage etc.

Normally the price :)

I've got a classic policy for my 190E 2.5-16. It includes an agreed valuation (as opposed to 'market value only' as stipulated by many of the larger normal insurers).

Limited mileage (as volunteered by me, this car rarely gets used) but other than that it includes all the usual fully comprehensive cover, legal cover etc etc.

It's about £120 a year including all taxes/costs. I'm pretty sure it'd be several times that cost for a normal policy even with full NCD.

classic policies can also differ in your repair options, some will allow you to do your own reapairs, while the insurance company will pay fpr parts plus the standard labour rates/time for the repairs that need doing.

That could be important if you have a car you've restored yourself and dont want a normal garage to do it.

hi

hello

Peter Best quoted be £210 on my highly collectable 320ce cabrio

They also did not require me to use my no claims discount, and as such i have put an order down for the new e class coupe diesel as my no claims can go to that car.

also join mercedes benz classic members club, costs £30, but you get 10%+ off the insurance quote etc.

well worth it i think

thanks

I use Lancaster for my classic policy on my 300CE 24V and pay £200 p.a with 5000 limited mileage. My cars is a 1990 though.

£30 for joining the mercedes benz classic members club

to recieve 10% discount on insurance (10% of £210 = £21 which is less than £30) sorry i dont see the logic in that.

Don't you think there might be slightly more to an owner's club membership than a 10% discount on an insurance policy? :)

Will, Who was that done through?

I use Lancaster as well on my 1992 W124 300E, I pay around £100 a year for a limited mileage policy.

Since your car is now 15 years old Lancaster should insure you too - I've used them since 2007 when my car just became 15 years old.

got it through adrian flux at a good price,,,,so im set:rock:

...can I ask: how much did you pay? Was it limited mileage?

My SL has a 3rd car Heggerty policy at £180 limited to 3k miles p/a - I called them today to enquire how much more for the F355 (Im seeing it on weds) and its £390 a year - bargain I thought
