Classic insurance renewal

Just had my renewal quote on the E36

3000 miles, garaged, £10K agreed value, free recovery & breakdown from Classicline who are quoting £299.

Seems a bit high? I know it says "AMG" but I'm not exactly a boy racer (I wish)

Quoting me £29 for "laid up" insurance over the winter.

Might hit The Meerkats this evening and what Aleksandr has to say.

I use Heritage (norton insurance) in Edgbaston - family fleet - usually costs around £1000 a year for 4 cars, adding one seems to add about £100-£120 depending what it is.

Just bought E55k & that added £118.

£299 is way too high. As with flat6buster I use Heritage by Norton, call Jayne Devey and say I sent you her way.

For 7 cars including breakdown cover and numerous not garaged (including my Alpina with higher mile cover than your AMG and similar performance and value) I am paying £1200 a year.

Use a proper classic car insurer. Mainstream ones really overcharge as they have limited data about the cars.

I only pay about £20 more for my C63 on normal insurance.

Seems a lot for Classic.

Got a quote from Tristram at Heritage.....

£282 - but does not include any breakdown cover, lost keys, etc.

Just been on one of the comparison sites and it comes in at £178

Obviously no "agreed value". I told them it was worth £10K.
