May I remind everyone about one of the best events in the country?

Classics on the Common

It's a general event, but there will be a good sprinkling of MBs. The total number of exhibitors is limited this year for some reason, but it's still going to be well over a thousand.

Unless you are an exhibitor, it's best to get there by train: park at Luton Parkway or St Albans. Services very frequent; the event site is within easy walking distance of the station and of dozens of pubs and restaurants, and a very good fish & chips shop.

Weather permitting, it's a great way to spend a balmy evening, and there are not a lot of rivet counters about.

I'm not one of the organizers, just an enthusiastic local supporter.

Yep, I went to this last year for the first time (despite having lived in St Albans for 4 years previous, I have managed to avoid it...) and it is the best local/Sunday best style car show I have been to, there is something for everyone from classic through to moderns. Highlights for me last year were the fleet of Lotus Carltons parked together, AC 428 convertible and a De Tomaso Longchamp (surprisingly :)) amongst the hundreds of cars - well worth the effort to arrive there early if you can.
