Hi

After a little help please. I purchased some service parts today, plugs, drive belt, oil filter and fuel filter. All sourced using the look up from the registration number at motor factors.
According to Haynes, the fuel filter is located towards rear of car near fuel tank...

Can anyone narrow this down for me, as I’m struggling to see it! :dk:
Should have said... it’s an 09 plate, M271 engine.

Thanks in advance
Darren

CLC you say... Try typing your reg into eurocarparts and see what fuel filter comes up. It may be built in to tank and maintenance free?

Yes, did that with all the parts... and that is the fuel filter that is listed (also on SC motor factors), just trying to locate its whereabouts without taking every tray off the bottom!

Thanks

Ok These reg check things aren’t always right... reason I know this because they suggest incorrect windscreen wipers for my w203.

Other reason I suggest it’s built in because of following topic:

Yes... I read that before posting...
Seems strange though, as the Haynes for the w203 shows the filter, and I’m assuming that the chassis for a Cw203 and CLC are the same... so would assume it has it?!?

Someone must know! Or I’ll be taking all the trays off this weekend! :wallbash:

No harm in taking the trays off and having a look I suppose... if you have any service history available maybe see if it was ever replaced before... anything in the owners manual regarding fuel filter?

Found this mate says fuel filter every 15 years - must be built into tank no?

The CLC is a W203. The fuel filter should be replaced every 4 years:

Later cars had the fuel filter inside the tank and then it's every 15 years.

When you say later cars ... the OP’s is an ‘09 CLC I think. To my knowledge w203 regular c class ran until ‘07, by that logic would an ‘09 CLC not be considered a later car?

My 2006 M271 car had the fuel filter under the car as per above.

My 2013 M274 car has the fuel filter inside the petrol tank.

So all I know is that the change occurred at some point between 2006 and 2013....

I see, I think the issue in determining what’s going on here is that the OP is dealing with a w204 ‘09 CLC with a m271 so not a w203 with m271... perhaps.
