Clean EGR from 220 CDI

Hi all,

I need to clean my EGR. Anyone has some tips on this? Is it a job I will be able to do myself, or is it better to ask the MB-garage to do this?

Once removed you can leave it soaking over night in paraffin or petrol. Then in the morning give it the once over with a tooth brush. Finish off with brake cleaner and a rag.

It's a pretty simple job TBH.

Yep, I would agree with that but ........ it doesn't clean the area behind the valve that you can't get to and I ended up replacing mine because it did not seal off completely when it needed to and ran as rough as a rag mans trumpet intermittently.
