Too true. What beats me is this reference to two pop stars on the alleged list of people frequenting Elm Guest House. I have racked my brains, but for the life of me I cannot think of who that may be (?!).

Horrific, but it is something very different... the perpetrators were from the lower echelons of society, and were only protected by the incompetence of the social services. In addition were was a racist motivation behind it.

This is in contrast to the the 'rich and famous' allegedly protected either by their celebrity status, or by people in higher places, or by both.

And today Lord Janner was in the news again....

Lord Janner will not face child sex abuse charges, CPS says - BBC News

The CPS decided that Lord Janner will not be prosecuted due to his severe Dementia, as confirmed by an independent Police doctor. Fine.

And the Labour party announced that they suspended Lord Janner membership today. Sounds perfectly reasonable.

But then listening to Radio 4 while driving, Uri Geller was interviewed and said that when he last met Lord Janner 3 years ago, he did not remember the names of his own grandchildren and did not recognise his life-long friends.

So.... very serious allegations of child sex abuse are grounds for suspension from a political party... that I can understand. But apparently suffering from severe Dementia is no hindrance to political party membership?
