...a rental..not saying what !
Hi all...any idea why my CC should keep switching itself from auto to manual?? sometimes instantly, sometimes after few mins /hours..sometimes days (not so much this one anymore)..BTW its the standard CC in a 2003 W203. While in auto it seems to work fine, blows hot an cold controllign temp appropriately.. its been dpoign this for a while (months) just seems to be getting worse.

Its never been re-gassed as far as I'm aware, certainly not since I've had it which was from 18mths onld.

Any ideas?

thx
Jon

Probably needs a re-gas. It really should have been done before now.

If the system has insuffuicient refrigerant it will switch the aircon off as a precautionary measure.

Autocentres normally do a re-gas for about £50. MB will charge you best part of £100.

When I told my MB dealer Kwik Fit would do it for £49, they said they would match their price.

O/K thanks will tray a re-gas. sods law it been working fine now in auto mode since making the original post....

Iirc quick fit price drops from £50 in the summer to £25/30 in the winter for a regas.
I did regas the wifes 203 a few months ago as i thought the air con was rubbish, and it wasnt down to much but new gas and the correct amount made it quite a lot better.
