Climate Control

Is there a way to reset the digital climate control on my 2001 CLK?? I'm just not sure its working particularly well - on my last car (a BMW) I was able to reset and recalibrate the system which improved things considerably.
For example - on cold and frosty mornings - the warm air starts to come through the front side vents pretty swiftly but nothing comes out of the central front air vents at all.....and my feet feel a bit cool too!!!

My understanding is that the centre vents only output cool air and the outer vents provide warm air.
I don't think I ever get warm air out of my centre vents. I'd need to check.

I'm probably completely off the mark but I'm sure people here will put your straight.
