Does anyone know if the heater/climate controls are interchangeable?
As in the dial style ones interchangeable for the digital unit.
Or would that involve changing the loom also?

Unfortunately they are not.

that's a real shame.
Can the lights be replaced in the dial style units or will I have to get a new one? I'm going to have it out today and see what I can do with it.

Pull the knobs off (may be tight)
Remove bulbs - try pushing a straw over the glass - you CAN do it with pliers but run the risk of breaking the glass.
Carefully replace bulb.
Job done

The knobs aren't designed to be pulled off!! are they?

Yes.
They WILL be tight. You might need pliers - protect the finish of the knob with a cloth.

Any idea what the bulb is called or a part number or something? eg 501, festoon etc
There are no markings on the bulb itself and it is the smallest bulb I have ever seen!!

Halfords will have them. Just make sure you get the same wattage as there are some slightly higher ones available but I have heard they can melt the surround
