If I have one side on hot (i.e. on the red dot) and put the other side on 26, the side that is supposed to be blowing 26 actually goes quite cool. Is this a fault or just the climate control trying to cool the warm air coming from the other (warmer) side? I would have thought this would only be the case if auto was selected. bit of a rambling question, I know, but I hope someone on here knows what I'm trying to say and can shed some light on it.

if you make them both the same do they both blow hot?

i suspect its the system trying to make the one side 26.

Is the car/engine already warm when you do this?

That confirms what I was thinking. I only noticed after about 50 or 60 miles, just got a blast of cool air coming through the vents on my side. If I set both sides to warm then both sides blow warm. This duel zone thing seems a bit of a gimmick to be honest surely you cant draw a line down the car and expect warm to stay one side and cool on the other
So if warm air infitrates the cooler side that side will blow even cooler to cool the transient warm air :dk:
Dread to think what happens in the four zone CC

I just set mine on 22 deg and 'auto' when I got the car and not touched them again since!
During that time the car has never misted up nor have I been too hot or too cold. The interior warms quite quickly from cold and no amount of adjustment is going to get heat in the engine any quicker;)
Given there is no physical barrier in the car between left and right then the best temperature differential you are going to get is a couple of degrees.
When my wife in the passenger seat wants to be two degrees warmer than me, then the system works just fine.

Certainly in at least one of our cars (and I cannot remember which) the manual said try not to vary the temp by more than 2 deg C as the system would not work at it's best.
