CLK 07 Front seat release problem

The manual drivers seat often will not release forward to enable access to the rear. I have removed the back of the seat cover and can see the two cables but cannot access their ends to see if there is any adjustment.
Is there a way of tensioning the cables more? Can I access the ends without removing the seat?

My passenger side seat does the same-only when it is adjusted too far forwards (ie to provide leg room for a tall passenger in the rear.)

You have to get them in exactly the right postion, My drivers one is on it's lowest setting and leant quite far back cos that's how I likes it.

The passenger side comes up fine though but then that is set differently.

You might just need to play around with the position, they do it so the headrest will go into the space where the sunvisor sits.
