clk 200 1999 please help urgent

Guys I am in desperate need. Brought a clk 200 1999 petrol yesterday. It was running kinda lumpy on the way home but got me back.today it won't rev over 2000 and no power at all can hardly get it off the drive. I read some where to disconnect the black terminal off the battery and try to reset the throttle thing. However I closed the boot and then found out this didn't work anyway.i couldn't user the button inside as I had no power to car. my stepdad took some jumps leads and powered my car from his so I could open the boot which it did.would this cause this issue. Also when you take off the pipe in the engine which shows the flap sorry not technical it looks like the old carb flaps that is always closed. Should it every open. My step dad thinks this is the issue to the problem. Please help anyone please. Not a clue sorry, but what Olly is suggesting above is that you get the car plugged in to a Star machine and diagnosed before you do anything else.
 
Hi again. I've got someone coming around later to day to hopefully read the car however he's questioned if it'sa square or round socket to the computer. he thinks he's only got the square one. Does anyone know which one it is on a clk200 petrol 1999 and location.also is therea way to recover the car from limp mode to get it to a garage.currently the car will turn over but won't rev. Olly / Blackc55 took it to the garage they said one of the fuel injectors has gone. When I asked if that would put it in limp mode they said yes. also asked about the code read they said they have three machines but their normal one they use won't read the ecu for some reason so they are going to try one of the other two. As stated in the first post by me being Locked out the boot when I disconnected the battery and the way my dad got his car to give mine power would that of caused the issue to the ecu. I never turned the car over only pressed the boot release button. Cheers and thanks

anyone please

Car back from the garage they are saying all three of their machines will not read the ecu. The car starts everytime and only goes about 5 mph got no revs at all. But not got any warning lights on either. Does this sound like the ecu guys Cheers
 
Take it to a specialist with a Star. A Star will read it no problem. All dealers and decent MB specialists have them.

No other equipment will do.
 
Where do you live? Maybe we can recommend one near you?
 
Get it to someone that has star diagnostics,sounds like a dodgy MAF to me though,you would be very unlucky if just applying 12v from another battery to open the door damaged the ecu.Try disconnecting the MAF to see if anything changes.

forgot to add I've disconnected the battery now add I've been told it will reset the ecu after 24 hours is this true please

Thanks all for the advice. Firstly I live in rugby near Coventry. I can't drive the car as it won't go over 5 mph. I'm wondering if the tps has gone. I tried to rev the engine from the bonnet not the pedal. Disconnecting the maf seems to make the engine run rougher. It's Idles between 800 and 1200 with no revs at all well I say that maybe I get to 1300 if that. Does that sound like a tps. Cheers again guys.

Hi all I've bit the bullet and have had the towed to merc in the end. had the rac bloke run some checks but he didn't have the round pin connector for the ecu. He did however pull off the first injector and put a bulb on it and it didn't flash unlike the other three until he revd what he could out of the car then it did. he didn't know if the car was in limp and that's meant to happen. I'll let you know what mercedes say when they get back to me.
 
Merc have called and advised they could read the ecu and two codes are
1 throttle acculator
2 cam sendor

1000 for both ummmmm

So is it the actual parts or the wiring to the parts. I can get the parts but don't want to fork out over 100 only to find out its the wiring. My step dad is very good with a voltage meter but can you advise what he should be checking please. Also if these parts are changed will it need coding again. The technician said he tried to boot lag the acculator back to zero but wouldn't allow him.can some one explain what that means please. Cheers

Check the maf to see if there's any oil on it! If so clean it with contact cleaner and let it dry. Had this on mine very recent and the star came back with actuator code and nothing about the maf. If the maf is dodgy it with throw alsorts of codes which aren't necessarily the problem. Its worth a look.
