Done a little reading up and learn't a little about setting off, W/S and throttle control.

However I believe after some reading that there may be something wrong with the kick down.

If I was rolling onto a 70 road at 30
Waited until the car was straight
And pressed the pedal down. Past the kick down

The usual result is as follows

Rev meter goes all the way to the top.
Car sounds like it's revving it's whatsits off

followed by a nice acceleration of speed.

Bear in mind this is in W mode.

Is this how it should be?

Also at lights setting off quick usually results in spinning and a warning triangle flashing.

This is with the ASR on

I would appreciate any advice or information on how to use the auto clk in this model correctly and for best and safest performance.

And also if anyone knows of any track or bit of drag strip / massive empty legal place to test the car out properly I have been looking for one for months!

Thanks all for any helpful replies.

W mode stands for winter mode IIRC, this tends to give less power when kicking down in case of an ice on the roads. In more recent cars there are other options that I can't recall of the top of my head. Try putting your car into Summer mode 'S' and see if the problems still occur.

Just a quick thank you

Car is fine now

Simple press of the S and a noticable gain and better drive:bannana:

Thanks again

Definitley much better!

Don't know wether to invest in a sprintbooster now
Mind you it's a 99 reg? Don't think they do them for that model.

The change points a higher in the S mode, in W it will not roll back on hills and gives another ratio
