Clk 320 2002 convertible - hood problem

Hi with clk convertible it intermittently, when it hasn't been used for a few days the switch for the hood lights up red. The hood will then not work or Windows and mirrors. If I then use it for a few days the light goes off and everything works again. Checked all fuses. Does anybody know how we can fix it?

Any chance it's a battery problem? - Enough juice to run the electrics when it has been running and charging the battery, but when it's run-down there's only enough to kick the starter over?

The hood open light probably shares the same switch as the car alarm hood switch, maybe an intermittently faulty car alarm be causing this fault.

Test your car alarm and test it when this fault is present.
