CLK 320 Cabriolet roof issue

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have just bought a 2004 CLK 320 cabriolet and the roof was fine but now the roof won't fully open. It looks like the hooks that keep the top fixed to the wind screen are not opening. Can i ask what these are called? The rest of the mechanism works fine i.e. the windows go down and the back bits release it's just that front part won't unhook. There is no message on the dash board just says roof in operation.

Whats the problem and how to fix it??

Hi

I have a 208 clk cab and you have to
detach the hooks by using a handle on
the header rail

The 209 is fully automatic none of that manual stuff on earlier models.

yes it's fully automatic.

Might be an idea to take it to a good independent Mercedes specialist with STAR. They can probably diagnose the problem for you.

The 209 is fully automatic none of that manual stuff on earlier models.

Sorry no help here, However I have "that manual stuff" and it works every time :bannana: short of developing a fault with my wrist looks like I was wrong to be jealous of a fully automatic roof.

That would be great especially with the more agressive and masculin styling of the a208
