clk 320 transmission fault

Take the car to a MB indy Matt. You will only throw money at the car with guessing the fault.
It won't be any consolation to you, but my old W210 lost the gears after getting warm. The torque converter was worn out. Have you checked the fluid level with an atf dipstick?

I don't if you have same gear box, my CLK has 7 speed. There is a thing called SCN code (£72.00) I believe it is used to synchronize the new electroplate brains.

I have checked and double checked the atf,it even whines from cold occasionally,im thinking torque convertor now as its mint when atf is cold, also i remember my valeo radiator failing a few years back, and only dropping the oil in the pan i wont let it beat me though,im not sure how much of a job it is to take the box out, does anyone know if its possible to test the oil pump? does anyone know where I can download a workshop manual,as Haynes don't print a uk one, though I can order one from the states.
