Hi All

Do these have sliding pins?

I noticed today through the tiny hole between rear of disc and backing plate that my rear face of the disc on one side is corroded and clearly the car is not breaking properly on this side.

Could it be a seized caliper? is this common and can they been unseized?

Thanks

They are not sliding pin, but two piston caliper. Well, mine is, anyway.

It is more common for the pad to be stuck than the piston seized. I have had this problem before myself. Disc looks terrible doesn't it!!

Think I need new pads as discs anyway Gaz both front and rear so I'll invest

F&R on mine are the bigger size and both vented so more coinage needed !

Mine do look like they have a piston either side yes !!

Front calipers are slider pin type. They are quite unusual with a torx key needed to undo them, unlike the usual 7mm allen key which most have. The torx slot is shallow, so make sure you have the right size bit.

Pistons just push back !? I.e don't wind ??

I see 4 pins Gaz on rear

Looks like they need punched out to release the spring and pads ?

Just got a quote for F&R discs and pads from MB

Even with my friendly local parts man giving me 20%

Total = £370 :O
