Hi

Could anyone help, we have a 2003/4 CLK 55 AMG convertible, the suction fan is permanently on as soon as the ignition is turned on and it shows the warning, coolant visit workshop. We have put the car on MB Star and it has a current stored fault in engine which we can not erase, it says pP2073-001 Electric suction fan for engine or air con, short circuit to positive (p1999) current and stored. Fuses checked along with relays. We have checked the suction fan module which proves ok, we have also retro fitted a section of loom as shown on MB Star which fits between fan module and loom plug. Everything seems to be pointing to the ecu, but at £1186.00 we need to make sure, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How do you know the fan module is ok?

It could also be a control problem from the front right SAM unit. It needs proper investigation really.

When you say you have checked the suction fan module how did you actually do this.

Do you have any faults in the air con control unit as if this is disconnected it will cause the engine fan to run continuosly so would look at that as well

The fan will run at full yield when there is a problem with either the AC or engine system.

we checked the fan module by swapping a complete fan assembly off another car which we know is fine. The contol panel in the car was suspected so we bought a new unit but to no avail.
