I'm chuffed.

I just bought on eBay a 2 owner 230 kompressor with 67k miles for £1600.

It's got no rust visible, it's got all the gadgets such as xenons, orthopaedic seats, parktronic, climate Bose etc.

Most of it even works, the stereo is silent, there's a dangling wire in the boot that I guess should go to the Bose amp, I'll investigate to see if the amp is there or just knackered.

It drives beautifully and is in 040 black and will look great when polished up.

£1600 was market value, but these cars are a bargain

It's a different beast altogether , strangely the driving experience is pretty similar, maybe the clk is a bit smoother compared to my sportline w124 coupe, The quality is not as good as a w124, but what is? No rattles, but just flimsier, the interior is nice, an evolution of the w124, but the clk, as lovely as it is, feels normal in comparison.

To get a comparable w124 e220 cab would be 5 figures now, hence the clk

And here it is with a shine!
