Hello, ive bought some 17" AMG Alloys for my CLK Cab on a W. Someone told me to put 245 40 17's on the rear and 225 45 17's on the front.. Has anyone got any further advice on this? Thanks..

Why not 245/45 though?I`ve got 225/45 front and 245/45 rears on my car

Lower profiles on rears as the wheels are wider so you need to do that to keep same tolling radius..

I do understand that but he does not say that his wheels are staggered

There's approx 3% difference in rolling diameter between 245/40 and 245/45.

Many Merces come with staggered set-ups. Mine is 7.5" front and 8.5" rears. MB recommended tyres are 225/45 front and 245/40 rear

My (second-hand) CLK came with 255/35x18 on the rear, and 225/40x18 on the front. Looks lovely, but I'm dreading paying for my first set of new tyres

i was always told you should have 225/40/18
on front and rear on a clk:doh:

No.

The AMG wheels are staggered on both CLK models ( 208 and 209 )
