Hi,

I have CLK cab 2004 and the roof won't go down, upon investigation I have found a random cable inside the boot to the left...its like a cable inside a net curtain.... Can anyone show/tell me where theis should be attached please.

Regards

Can yountake a pic of it and post it on here?
That would probably give people more of an idea.
On our CLK cab, when the roof is half way, you can see 2 cables like you described that hold a flimsy partition in place. Ours are broken on one end and do nothing really.
There was a thread on here a while back about it. I'll try and find it.
Is your (technical term coming up) thing that makes your boot bigger in the correct position? This would stop your roof from working.

You're right it is like a partition. The dash is saying that the boot partition lid needs to be down but it is down.

Thanks for the prompt response

Not my pic, but the same. This is what I was talking about with the partition. You can see this is broken too. It would not affect the roof operation.
Also, the boot partition to make it bigger is pictured at the bottom of the pic. This needs to be closed.

Grav888,

You were right. It wasn't that curtian thing, it was the boot partition which wasn't connecting with the switch. A bit of tape has been applied as a temp fix :o

Just querying this thread after looking at the picture shown earlier in thread. When having a rummage around in the boot when having a look under spare wheel well, i notice that both these curtains in my car don't work as one of the clips holding the blind cords on either side of car is broken. Other than for keeping things out of the way of the folding roof, do these curtains have a purpose. What i'm really asking is "If they aren't in the raised position i.e in the raised 'taught' position, will the electric roof fold without issue?"

Anyone know the answer? Would really appreciate response from any other convertible owners.

Anyone know if these curtains are relevant? Both of mine have broken clips hence they are just laid on the floor. My electric roof has a known fault and won't opporate, but i need to know if these could also be causing an opening problem.
