Wow! This certainly makes the 209 look aggressive. I want one!

'Tis funny. "Hmm", I thought to myself. "A CLK55AMG is about £60k, so I reckon that's going to be about £75-80k - probably worth it." But £150k

Love the look of that CLK, but a 550 Maranello would be home to my iPod :D

Just been to check, and MB is only making 100 of them as well - better get your order in early to avoid disappointment !!

Certainly looks a bad boy though !!

Look at the interior pictures - I'd say it had a facelifted DVD based COMAND system - aka the new C Class....

That's not command, its the standard single cd/tuner from the E class (which perhaps will also be in the revised C class?). The DVD command has a bigger screen.

Just got my copy of Evo delivered (morning post sir! You're 'avin' a larf!), first news story is "CLK racer for the road".

MB seem to be pitching this as a cheaper SLR, as it uses the same 5.4l supercharged engine (detuned from 617bhp, to only 582  ). How does 62mph on 4 secs, 124mph in 12 and a top speed of 199mph sound? Evo are quoting a price of £180,000 if imported direct from the factory (SLR is £315,000).

An interesting fact I thought is that AMG don't build the racing DTM cars (or this one); a company called HWA GmbH builds them (although AMG controls HWA).

The Evo article doesn't show any pictures of the interior, but does say "The final specification is said to include satellite navigation in a carbonfibre-trimmed cabin." Does that swing your decision Richard? ;)

Does look tres cool. How long before we see 209s with the carbonfibre rear spoiler? :D

sadly it reminds me too much of this monstrosity:

*shudder*

I'm with you there, that's horrible. The DTM one doesn't look like that though :p

Is it just me, or is the "CLK 55" badging not on straight? ... Don't tell me that's not a gen-u-ine AMG model? ;) :D

I see that the owner, fearing that he may damage those monster rims, even bought a house on a street without kerbs - now that's dedication!

Looks like something P Diddy would be in, is there a gold tissue box holder on the rear shelf ? :p As for the back wheels, you could put your hamster in there for some exercise while you drive to the shops !!!

Back to the original vehicle in debate - looks mean - but that black rear spoiler looks naff - looks like sommat they added on after the event

As for the second BLING mobile  yuck!!!

You mean that *carbonfibre* black spoiler? I like it; here take another look, see if this changes your mind ;)

Ditto

Never mind - IIRC it was just a particularly horrible CLK from the US ... which bore no resemblance whatsover to a CLK DTM :)
