My 2001 CLK 230 Kompressor has developed a short circuit which keeps blowing fuse No5 (5A in the boot). The circuit comprises boot light, rear interior light, & alarm system. I have checked the boot release sw.,boot & interior ligts which are ok, no shorts, lamps ok & connections etc in good clean condition. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here - please note I have not been able to identify the alarm unit.
Any advice/help appreciated

Hi there ,

Alarm siren is in NS wheel well IIRC , under the arch lining ...

Have you checked for a broken wire in the boot hinge ( where the wiring runs for the numberplate lights )

Have checked all wiring in the boot & all ok
Checked all lamps & wiring & also ok
F5 still blowing - any suggestions
