Im back in another Benz
Recently bought a 2002 CLK 320 coupe (C209) and when I first start the car the heater flaps make a poping noise and do so every so often

I plugged in a Snap-On diagnostic machine and it said that a couple of my ventilation flaps are jammed or stiff and something about an actuater.
I have misplaced the sheet that I wrote the codes on

Anybody has similar issues

You are right. Its a common issue. To fix, dash will need to come out although depending on which flaps need attention it can be done without taking it all out, IIRC.

Its the footwell flaps. Is there a "how to" guide so I might be able to tackle them myself

id live with it if you can.. its a pain of a job depending on which one has gone.

I had this recently, there was a knocking sound from the top of the dashboard after I started the car for approx. 30 secs (apparently as the motors or flaps go through a test at start-up). Took it to be diagnosed and it was the flap/flap motor for the Activated Charcoal Filter, probably either the cog on the motor or cog that connects to it in the heater box apparently, approx £450 to fix if it was the motor side, or approx £900 if it was the other side in the heater box. However it hasn't made the sound again since that day a few weeks ago so I've left well alone at the moment. Is it likely to have sorted itself if it was stuck rather than broken? Or has it not been going into the 'test' mode at start-up because I've not pressed the Activated Charcoal button for a while?
